Chafing 'ell...

Finally the guidebook (http://www.amazon.co.uk/North-Downs-National-Trail-Guide/dp/1845136772) has arrived. But I'm unable to act on it and getting on with some more walking as a) I've an OU Maths EMA to get done before the Bank holiday weekend, b) I'm off to London with my daughter who is stupidly excited about going to the Natural History Museum and c) because I'm still recovering from the chafing burns from the walk at the weekend.

I've a terrible history of chafing burns from previous long distance walking days on the Capital Ring and the Great Stour Walk. I've tried vaseline, talc, etc. Not much seems to solve it. Baggy trousers, tight trousers, loose boxers, going commando...

So, anyone out there who can recommend anything? I hear biking shorts and something called Body Glide is good? Or those shorts the footballers wear under their normal shorts.

Any advice would be warmly and gratefully appreciated!
